Maternity sessions have a very special place in my heart. They're the most powerful, most meaningful sessions to me, and I think it's because of my own experience with my pregnancy. I had a cryptic pregnancy; I went one day to the doctor believing I had a hernia due to a small painful bulge in the bottom of my stomach. My doctor exclaimed that I did not have a hernia, in fact the bulge was a baby, and I was 27 weeks pregnant - well past 6 months..

I'm having a baby??? In three months?!

3 months, a nursery cot, baby clothes and a shit load of nappies later, I was in the clinic with a baby in my arms.

At no point did I get to stop and think, 

wow, I'm growing a human. I am strong. I am brave. I am woman in its finest. 

And I definitely did not have time to capture and commemorate my pregnancy - my biggest regret.

It makes me sad to think that I didnt have the opportunity to capture it as I went along. But I channel that sadness into making sure other women empower themselves and capture their amazing bodies growing tiny miracles.

This is my passion, this is what drives me, this is what makes me happy.
